In order to get closer to the goal of automating the generation of press sequences, analytical calculation foundations need to be developed that provide the key parameters for the forming process and serve as a basis for creating the forming stage plan. The creation of press sequences for the production of screws using cold solid forming relies largely on the experience of the designers. Currently, numerical assistance often only offers volume calculations of simple standard bodies that occur during a screw pressing operation. In the initiated project for the digitization and automation of press sequence creation, the initial step involved numerically mapping the experience of designers and research results from the history of forming technology. In the ongoing project to be carried out in this work, the aforementioned rules are to be validated and optimized as needed. The optimization will be performed using finite element method (FEM). The rules will take into account various evaluation criteria (e.g., degree and distribution of deformation, tool load, etc.).My tasks:-Familiarization with the FEM software Simufact Forming-Understanding the current procedure for creating press sequences-Definition of evaluation criteria-Conducting effective FEM simulations-Comparing the obtained FEM results with the values based on rule-based design-Expanding numerical rules with selected evaluation criteria-Compilation of the results in a written bachelor's thesis
