CurrentDirect scientists in the physical, chemical, and biological sciences, and information technologies, who assess the condition of the atmospheric and aquatic environment using scientific tools, such as, monitoring, modeling, and geographic information system (GIS). • Spearhead surveys of natural resources and water quality of lakes, rivers, wetlands, and estuaries; identify areas of improvement and cooperate with state and local governments.• Deploy resources to assess current and future air quality levels through scientific studies and ambient monitoring.• Support the Agency’s regulatory development and enforcement of the environmental laws by providing sound scientific evaluations.• Develop data bases and geo-spatial tools to store, disseminate, and analyze environmental data collected from aquatic, soil, and ambient environment.
