Mazhar is focused, self driven and dynamic professional with more than ten years of working experience in programme management, labour migration, skills development, and partnership management. He is highly organized, result oriented and strategically sound with proved track record in different capacity with UN agencies and several international and national organizations. He is skilled in leading multiple projects, monitoring and evaluation, budget and analytical data management, substantive expertise on producing legal and policy documents, report writing, policy advocacy and influencing. Experienced in leading and building successful partnerships with development partners, UN Agencies, CSOs, private sector, and workers’ organizations.Currently he is serving the International Labour Organization (ILO) as National Programme Officer in its migration and decent work portfolio. Prior to this role, he worked at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on migration governance and also served the secretariat of the UN Migration Network in Bangladesh. He had led numerous development projects in BRAC as Manager where he was groomed under the BRAC’s renowned leadership programme “Young Professional Programme”. He also served Transparency International Bangladesh, Ministry of Women and Children affairs, and Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights successfully with the recognition of excellence.Mazhar is a national of Bangladesh and speaks English, French and Bengali. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dhaka and has attained postgraduate diploma (PGD) and several advanced certification from ITC-ILO, IOM-SDL, PMP, and United Nations System Staff College. He is passionate to work for the well being, decent employment and protection of workers reinforcing governance.
