I am super fortunate to join again, as a junior R&D engineer, the PearlGuard team working on cutting-edge computer vision techniques.The main goal of my stay is fine-tuning and adapting deep learning architectures in the context of robot vision. In particular my focus is to deliver vision-based systems to solve various security-related issues.

Funded by a DAAD scholarship, I spent a wonderful 6 months collaborating with the MST lab team at the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany.The following tasks were assigned to me:1- Working with the impedance spectroscopy "IS" Team in odrer to build an end-to-end machine learning-based solution for Gesture Recognition. A Journal paper was published in this context.2- Supervision and monitoring master degree students with topics related to computer vision and deep learning techniques.3- Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) courses at the university, level A1&A2.

**See Again- A Prosthetic Hand That Can See Things**In the recent years, deep learning has gained momentum and we have witnessed a major push towards intelligent and autonomous systems. In this context, a prosthetic hand that can see things, recognize and localize objects in real-time have not existed so far. To pave the way for the new generation of upper-limb hand prostheses, it would be interesting to integrate a camera and an artificial intelligent system for real-time detection and recognition of objects. The main objective of this final study project was to implement, validate and test a deep learning algorithm using python for recognizing objects online within a prosthetic hand. The system was trained and tested with NVIDIA GPUs hardware and implemented in a raspberry pi microcontroller.

This internship was my first foray into robotics. I had the chance to work with the Pearl Guard team and I'm deeply grateful to team members for being the best advisors one could ask for.The highlights of this summer project are:1- Understanding and selecting the most relevant deep learning architectures for computer vision.2- Designing (adapting), training and testing a Deep Learning-based machine vision system in order to detect the fence.3- Deploying the model in production on the Pearl Guard robot.
