I am an Assistant Professor of Law at Bogazici University, where I teach constitutional law while actively contributing to research in constitutional theory, legal philosophy, and public law.My academic journey culminated in the defense of my PhD thesis in August 2023, focusing on the intricate concept of constitutional identity. Drawing upon W.B. Gallie's notion of essentially contested concepts, my thesis delves into the nuanced and contentious nature of constitutional identity.Presently, I am crafting my book manuscript titled 'Constitutional Identity as an Essentially Contested Concept.' This project aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of the dynamic and multifaceted nature of constitutional identity by arguing the normative value of having an identity for a constitutional polity, the complexity of constitutional identity based on the tension between universal and particular dimensions, and the dynamic nature driven by past-future tension.
