Izzo is a serial entrepreneur, product management executive and unfettered inventor with 40+ granted patents in the US and internationally. He has worked in the mobile industry for 20+ years and built software products that were deployed in 100M+ devices. Izzo started his career as a software engineer at Philips (before the NXP spinoff) working initially on a Java-based (pre-Android) mobile operating system and specification requests (e.g. JSR-177: Security and Trust Services APIs including smart card access interface and cryptographic operations) for phone manufacturers such as Samsung. After the NXP spinoff, he was the original tech lead of the team behind MIFARE4Mobile, the most widely adopted end-to-end contactless smart card solution for mobile devices. Izzo later joined AT&T, one of the world's largest telecom companies, to help manage its Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and Trusted Service Management (TSM) platform roadmaps. As an entrepreneur, Izzo founded Contactless Data and Simless both pioneering respectively in near-field communication (NFC) applications and electronic/integrated SIM (eSIM/iSIM) technologies. Most recently, Izzo was VP of Product at GigSky, a global data connectivity provider where he led its foray into decentralized cellular networks with the launch of the first eSIM plans on Helium blockchain's 4G/5G network.Izzo strives to be an outstanding supportive leader who inspires and guides his colleagues and business partners by being unapologetically empathetic, passionate and hand-on in the craft of building great products that make life better for billions of people around the world.
