I graduated with a Distinction from the University of Bristol in 2019 with a Master’s in Medieval History. Since then, I have worked a variety of roles in the non-profit sector and am now seeking a new challenge. I have 4 years of experience working in the charity sector in the UK. During the coronavirus pandemic, worked on the frontline with vulnerable adults as a support worker and mentor. I developed a passion in this role for helping others, and sought a role working specifically with refugees. I was then highly successful in my role at Refugee Action, where I delivered a project to improve access to legal advice for refugees in the UK. I worked hard on my project to exceed targets and expanded the scope of my project to invite more participants and offer additional training sessions. At the end of my project, I had successfully trained and supported 10 grassroots organisations to begin providing free legal advice to refugees.I am an efficient project manager and have a proven track record of working independently to not only meet targets but also think creatively to come up with new ideas. I am an excellent communicator and line manager, able to support others and encourage their progress. I also have experience writing website content and blogs, which have been very well received by colleagues and external partners.I speak German and French at conversational levels and can read at an intermediate level in both languages. In my personal life, I enjoy time outdoors, running, swimming and hiking. I am always seeking new challenges, and completed two ultra marathons in 2023. Outside of exercise, I am an avid reader and also enjoy knitting.

Project ManagerRefugee Action Jan 2024 - May 2024I took a secondment position before my pre-arranged career break. I stepped up to support a struggling project, deploying high-level planning skills to get the project back on track in only three months. I produced high-quality reports on project progress which I presented to our funder. I also wrote bid documents to apply for further funding, and successfully secured funding for a further two years. I line managed one direct report and mentored her to ensure she could keep up this level of work after the end of my secondment. I organised and delivered online events for project participants, and built stronger relationships with them to ensure their continued participation. At the end of my secondment, the project was in a significantly better position; all targets were being met, further funding was secured and relationships with external partners were strengthened. This was as a result of my hard work and dedication. -
Project CoordinatorRefugee Action Apr 2022 - Jan 2024I managed a West Midlands based project, supporting grassroots organisations to develop their services to improve access to justice for asylum seekers and refugees in their community. I managed relationships with external partners and delivered online events to build a strong regional network of immigration advice providers. I supported organisations through intensive training and development, with great results: at the end of the project, 10 organisations had built advice services, having a real impact for asylum seekers in the region. I produced well-written progress reports for our funder and led on external presentations about the project, receiving excellent feedback. I worked with initiative on this project. I independently designed a new Monitoring and Evaluation method, which I tested and adapted with great success. This new method captured project participants' progress in more depth, and produced visual mediums to include in reporting. Our funder fed back that this was very useful. I presented on this new method so that it could be adpoted on other projects, and produced a blog reflecting on the work. This project was also the first time two departments at Refugee Action had collaborated on an area of work. This was a great success, and I successfully built a strong relationship with my collaborators. I wrote a reflective piece on this subject at the end of the project to inform future collaboration. Under my leadership, the project exceeded targets consistently and had a significant impact improving access to justice for asylum seekers in the West Midlands region. -
KeyworkerNacro Jun 2021 - Sep 2023Manchester, England, United KingdomI work one-on-one with vulnerable and disadvantaged people in central Stockport, providing a wide range of support. I tailor the support I offer to the individual and encourage them to develop their independence. I have extensive knowledge of the welfare system and support available which I deploy regularly to offer practical advice. I also mentor individuals seeking to improve their employment or social circumstances, and advocate for them when they struggle to speak for themselves.. I have excellent communication skills which I use daily to understand and respect the needs of others. During the pandemic, support needs have become more complex. I have risen to this challenge and enjoy supporting individuals who are struggling with their mental health. -
