I help customers, giving advice on their outfits/sizing and help them stay on trend by keeping my fashion knowledge up to date. I do this by spending time researching the current trends for example; sustainable fashion, 80s fashion. Another major aspect of the role is the visual merchandising; this has enabled me to work closely with the merchandising coordinator for my specific area. This is where I’ve gained my knowledge and eye for detail, as there is such a high standard and expectation to be met. Merchandising is a key aspect to my job as this attracts customers to the brand over competitors. I have attended many training sessions that have been held by Ralph Lauren for our new collections. These sessions are to see the new collections that will be landing in store, our high customer service demand, how to merchandise the new collections. All of these sessions have helped to sharpen my knowledge and create larger sales when I am back on the shop floor. Working in John Lewis has helped me see how other brands operate and this has assisted me in seeing how important brands need to show their own uniqueness through merchandising and clothing. I have also helped train a new employee in the Cambridge branch (the branch I previously worked at). I was chosen to train this new representative as I had a remarkable knowledge of the branch, merchandising and how the customers prefer to shop in this specific branch. I am responsible for sending in weekly trade reports (containing daily and weekly sales) to head office contacts, alongside any feedback we have on collections or the branch environment. Show less

This is a temporary position whilst the stores are closed.My main duties were to be on a live Web chat with customers who were asking questions about their online orders or product and stock enquires. I have a large experience in investigating where customers order were if they have been lost, what couriers were being used, where the delivery is and more. For product and stock enquiries, I would research what enquiry they were after and give them the best possible service. This means I now have a vast knowledge of products we sell throughout the whole store.This job would was a ‘work from home’ environment and encouraged me to experience a different working environment. I adapted well and easily to these new working conditions.During my time working for the contact centre, I would have to use a multitude of different systems throughout the day to find all the information I needed. This helped me become more versatile throughout the two sub brands and expanded my knowledge further.My duties at this store made such an impact on the sales for the Ralph Lauren brand, proving that customers respond to the attractive visual merchandising thinking that goes into the job.I have also won an award for my consistency in sending our weekly trade reports and exceptional hard work within the first 6 months of working for Ralph Lauren. This then caused me to leave the Cambridge branch to the Oxford Street store where I have excelled.
