I love working collaboratively with people to create stories and immersive experiences. I use playful visual metaphors to add multiple layers of understanding and expression in digital stories. I find it particularly exciting to combine new and old technologies together in installation, augmented and virtual reality projects. I have experience working from script development all the way through to finished production as well as finding unique ways to use existing material to create something new.Together with Van Sowerwine Isobel created a 360˚ stop-motion film Passenger which premiered at Venice Immersive, an augmented reality non-fiction narrative film Night Creatures which premiered nationally at MIFF and internationally at Rotterdam International Film Festival, interactive digital installation You Were In My Dream which won the 2010 Premiere of Queensland's National New Media Art Award and short film Clara which received a special mention from Cannes and a Golden Hugo for best animation at the Chicago Film Festival.Together with Cat Rabbit I have published two books with Thames & Hudson, made several films, exhibited installations at National Gallery of Victoria, Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Craft Victoria and with Ars Electronica at Science Centre Singapore; created commissioned work for the State Library of Victoria and Counihan Gallery; and screened short films at festivals across the world.

I teach various animation and storytelling subjects in the Design department, the Animation and Interactive Media program and in the School of Art. Occasionally I teach subjects at different Universities and I'm always up for a guest lecture. I love seeing all the amazing creations from the students!

I am a freelance animator and director. I have experience working within a team or independently as well as putting together my own teams to complete projects. My clients include ABC, Museum Victoria, SBS, Penguin Books, Warner Music, Karl Lagerfeld, Moooi and Yo Gabba Gabba.

During SharingStories programs I support children and community members to create animated stories using a wide variety of techniques including stop-motion, digital animation, green screen, video and sound design. By adapting drawings made during SharingStories programs I design iBooks both for community and publication.
