I care. I care about making a difference. This comes from my early career working for the British Council in Russia on a UK government funded technical assistance programme and then as a VSO volunteer in Ethiopia.I care about enabling teams to deliver high quality solutions to knotty social problems. That’s why I have spent more than 15 years working in the not-for-profit sector. At a community organisation in Sheffield I led the charity’s health team delivering a range of services including a smokefree programme for young people, a social prescribing service, and health trainer service.I believe that the most effective way to deliver impact is through working in partnership. I’ve had roles that were about developing new partnerships to deliver change. For example, as Consortium Development Manager for Youth Consortium Sheffield, an early voluntary sector consortium in Sheffield, I helped to secure public sector contracts for members of the consortium at a time when grant funding was becoming scarce.I listen. I listen to what people say are the challenges that they face and then I work collaboratively to find solutions, using my planning and organisational skills to keep us on track. In the last 12 months I have undertaken training in the Thinking Environment, an approach to enabling individuals and teams to think for themselves. I am curious and forward thinking. As Business Development Manager for a Sheffield-based charity, I could see the need for us to develop digital marketing capabilities to help generate revenue. I signed up for a 12 month digital marketing training programme and developed the charity’s first Facebook advertising campaign that proved the concept to colleagues. I thrive on challenge and variety. I readily take on extra responsibilities. I chair the Good Things Foundation Environmental Sustainability Working Group which has recently developed a new Environmental Sustainability Policy and action plan for the organisation.Recent experience includes programme management responsibility for:- A place-based digital inclusion programme in partnership with a local authority in the north of England. - Designing and delivering a programme to build the digital capability of voluntary sector organisations and to help them adapt their delivery to online during the pandemic, in partnership with a large UK bank. - A large government funded national digital inclusion programme.Outside of work I campaign for gender equality: I am Communications Officer for the Sheffield branch of the Women’s Equality Party.

This is what Margaret Kilner, Chief Officer for Healthwatch Sheffield said about my work:"Isobel worked with us to design and deliver the evaluations of two multi stakeholder projects focused on increasing citizen voice and social action in health and social care. Isobel is a pleasure to work with, with an approach that is both supportive and objective.
