I am the editor of the British Journal of Healthcare Management, a highly-respected academic journal. I oversee all aspects of this online and print publication, including managing submissions, coordinating the peer review process and working with authors to bring manuscripts up to the highest standards through careful subediting. I also handle commissioning, lay outs and design to ensure that the journal produces relevant and engaging content. Since becoming editor, I have raised the profile of the journal’s recently-established Open Access option and developed our social media presence. I am currently working in a project team to deliver the journal’s first ever national event. Alongside this, I am a highly versatile medical writer with an NCTJ qualification. My past publications include a peer-reviewed series on hospital infrastructure. I have demonstrable skills in writing for the general public and for healthcare professionals, as well as creating materials for commercial clients. I balance these roles with my duties as assistant editor for the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing, working with a freelance editor to publish specialist research and clinical reviews in the constantly developing field of cardiac medicine.I graduated with a first-class Master’s degree from the University of York in 2019. Outside of work, I am a volunteer for Versus Arthritis' Young People and Families service, a black belt in taekwondo and a keen (but somewhat less successful) pianist.
