Victim Support provides services to help people cope and recover from the impact of crime; through community support open to all, and specialist services such as Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence and Hate Crime.As Senior Bid Manager I project manage bid submissions, working with front line staff, finance and other business functions to lead the bid from initial solution design through budget and cost modelling to final document writing and sign-off. Our focus is always on how we can design or redevelop services that support people at an incredibly difficult point in their lives, working with partners to deliver the vital help people need while making funding go as far as possible, and evaluating our services so we can keep improving support.In this role I have also supported the development of the new bid team, using Prince2 principles to create appropriate bid processes and guidelines that balance robust governance and oversight with the need to stay flexible and reduce the pressure on front-line staff.I line-manage a small team of bid writers, working closely with them to answer individual bid requirements, as well as establishing libraries and templates that will improve our response in the future.

Victim Support is a national charity providing practical and emotional support to all victims of crime in England and Wales.My role has 3 key elements: - Bid management - Bid writing and solution design - Market analysis and product designI write and manage a wide variety of bids, from large grant and contract agreements with government funders, such as the successful re-bid for the National Homicide Service, and the recent award of the Pan-London DV services, to smaller funding applications.I also work with front-line teams and subject matter experts to design solutions for new services that aim to make funding go as far as possible while providing safe and effective support for vulnerable people.As part of the Business Development team, I undertake partner, competitor and market analysis to help determine how we can grow to meet new challenges while still keeping the Victim Support vision and values at the heart of everything we do.

As a bid writer and co-ordinator I worked in the UK & Europe Business Development Team, writing and researching bids and case studies in Transport and Direct Services. In this role I was part of Serco's successful bid for the 15 year franchise of the Caledonian Sleeper Service. Other responsibilities included Business Development reporting and pipeline management, as well as ad hoc projects on market analysis and communications strategy.I also represented the Local, Direct and Transport business unit in our Corporate Responsibility team. I worked with colleagues from across Serco to establish best practise and support our efforts to have a positive impact on the environment, the communities in which we work and society as a whole.
