Hello, my name is Isra. I am a dedicated Liverpool Football Club supporter. I enjoy keeping fit and healthy, especially through swimming or going to netball sessions. I am a bilingual speaker in Urdu, Hindi and English. My future aspirations is to travel the world and backpack through Europe.​​Having worked in John Lewis & Partners in several departments within John Lewis, but my substantive role is a Trainee Manager on a Talent Pool Programme, focusing on commercial success, customer awareness and partner engagement.​​Having graduated and achieving a degree in BSc Psychology (Hons) from Kingston University in 2021. During my degree, and studying through a pandemic, I was able to be given the opportunity to broaden my horizons and study in Montreal, Canada. This, allowed me to push myself to limits I never knew I was able to achieve, as well as learning more about myself and another culture. Most importantly, within this time I was able to learn how to ski! I am keen to pursue a career which allows me to optimise my degree. I have a particular interest in marketing,​​Being a partner in John Lewis, has allowed me to understand the importance in high quality and the reasons to why we always strive to be the best. I am eager to continue my journey within the Partnership. Having working in John Lewis, especially working within the Furnishing Fabrics department, allowed me to become innovative, come up with new designs and methods which would work well and increase customer experience with an increase in business profits. Also, enhanced my knowledge in a specialist area, allowing me to read what the customer would like and being able to suggest products to the customer which would go well with their idea and design. I have come across a broad range of consumers, which has given me an understanding of the business from the front line. I know how crucial customer service, financial system and stock levels are vital in sales and profit.​​I used to be a swimmer and compete in galas, as well as being apart of a Netball team. Playing sports has allowed me to work well in teams, and bring in fresh ideas. I have been a team leader in both sports, which require different skills- because of this I was able to develop transferable skills and communication.
