The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC), located north of Milwaukee in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is known for promoting the understanding and appreciation of the work of self-taught and contemporary artists through exhibitions and commissioned works of art.Founded in 1967, JMKAC has preserved, studied, and exhibited artist-built environments, earning a worldwide reputation. Art environments involve an individual significantly transforming their surroundings into an exceptional, multifaceted work of art.The Arts Center’s downtown Sheboygan facility includes eight galleries, two performance spaces, a café, a museum shop, and a drop-in art-making studio. Having the opportunity to work closely with students and staff is one of the biggest benefits of the program. With students, it gives the SRO an opportunity to meet with an individual student or small group to discuss student’s law-related concerns relative to home, school or community. Monitor individual student’s behavior and academic progress. Mentor students and facilitate groups of students discussing youth issues such as drugs, alcohol or violence.With the school administration, SRO’s serve on school-district wide committees, assist with program planning and help develop policy in regards to school safety. Officers also serve on Building Consultation Team to develop strategies to assist students. They can also serve as a resource to administrators and teachers for law-related questions and instruct at teacher in-service.

A drug recognition expert or drug recognition evaluator (DRE) is a police officer trained to recognize impairment in drivers under the influence of drugs other than, or in addition to, alcohol. The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) coordinates the International Drug Evaluation and Classification (DEC) Program with support from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation. In addition to officers, who are certified as DREs, the DEC Program educates prosecutors and toxicologists on the DRE process and the drug categories.
