Lead Developer On The Buy In Systems

I was the Lead Developer involved in the building out of the Buy In System. This system was designed to receive in all BOA/Merrill Lynch Buy In notices and liabilities; as a first stage. Our Buy In system communicated all these actions to DTC's Smart Track system via MQ.Another piece of the system consisted of generating Merrill Lynch notices daily.A large part of the system was one that dealt with Buy In Risk / Monetary Exposure. To assign the exposure to its correct source we had a Short Account / email matrix which mapped accounts to the account manager's email addresses. If it was systematically determined that the exposure belonged to these accounts, the managers would be notified of their liability via email. There was a real time email notifications system written, as well as a batched notifications system. Show less

Developer On Python Subsystem For Managing Buy In Exposure (Auto-Retransmittals System)

Jersey City, Nj

As I was one of the few people on the team who had experience in python, I led and trained the team for the programming effort. We collaborated to code a subsystem which would take the exposure of the incoming Buy In Liabilities, and deliver it to its primary owner, thereby alleviating the Bank's liability. This was tested by myself and the team thoroughly, and we also built many automated test cases around this system. The Auto Retransmittals system took a manual effort, which was prone to human error, and automated this process with a close to 100% degree of accuracy. Show less

Lead Subject Matter Expert And Concurrent Developer On The Buy In Exposure Report

Jersey City, Nj

There was a report written in the Bank's Quartz integrated Python platform which calculated the exposure / Coverage any given Buy In Liability had in the three days run up to the Buy In Execution date. Some of factors which provided coverage were viable short account notifications and active Retransmittals. I wrote up C modules on the Solaris box which filled in a daily history of all these factors in Sybase tables, and performed calculations based on them. I wrote up C modules on the Solaris box which filled in a daily history of all these factors in Sybase tables, and performed calculations based on them. Based on these calculations the process marks indicators used by other subsystems as to whether further action is needed to provide coverage for these items.I coded all the C modules which provided the data scaffolding for the Coverage report, and as the subject matter expert drew up specs for the team who were doing the coding on the integrated Python platform. This report is heavily relied on by the Buy in Ops managers, and has been working with excellent reliability to date.
