The Coaching Imperative offers tailored coaching solutions to support Diversity & Inclusivity efforts for organizations, executives, teaching and learning professionals, non-profits, and allies.Our approach is rooted in Afrocentric principles such as Sankofa, which means reaching back to move forward. We help individuals and organizations by offering culturally responsive coaching that emphasizes adaptive leadership, cultural agility, critical education, and building mindful and restorative practices. We work with C-suite leadership, non-profit managers, marginalized community members, purposeful professionals, educators and allies who share the imperative of transforming their homes, communities, houses of worship, schools, and businesses.

Within this position, I held responsibility for facilitating leadership and supervision as the Program Chair for graduate level social justice student affairs preparation programs, promoting staff training and student learning through faculty recruitment and evaluation. I initiated pedagogical practices while maintaining compliance with program curriculum. Additionally, I was responsible for the development of the Graduate Student Affair Professional Preparation Program and co-development of Critical Education Studies Undergraduate degree: Courses included Social Justice and Higher Education, The Student Characteristics, Learning and Culture; High Impact Practices; Law, Policy, and Safety and Restorative Justice and Organizational Leadership to a diverse range of students. Throughout my professional history, I have gained the experience necessary to successfully develop strategic marketing and communication action plans to meet and exceed performance goals through enrollment management and marketing essentials, achieving organizational goals.Selected Accomplishments:♦ Faculty Diversity Fellow: develops curriculum, enhance curricular practices to support inclusive classroom environments, support and research social justice projects, facilitates the development of cultural competency training and identify equity gaps and inform strategic planning to address university needs.

Executed operational management in support of organizational objectives, managing all aspects of enrollment strategy development, student retention plans, and commencement services. Utilized strong professional and interpersonal skills to drive continuous process improvements, collaborating throughout organizational levels to improve enrollment, student disability accommodations, community engagement and mental health support.Selected Accomplishments:♦ Established effective strategic leadership for the Career Services Department, successfully improving employment rates by 12%.♦ Developed strategic action plans to meet and exceed performance goals for executing enrollment plans leading to an approximate 40% increase in Fall 2015 and 15% in Fall of 2016.♦ Facilitated relationships through community service improving community/pro-bono hours by 67%.♦ Implemented strategic enrollment plan resulting in the COL being recognized among the most diverse ABA law schools in the country.♦ Managed operations as the Chief Conduct Officer, Title IX investigator and the student disability accommodation liaison.

In this position, I established leadership and management for a variety of projects working closely with communities and educational institutions to bridge the gap between grassroots activism, student leadership, and action research. I also directed all administration and operations for statewide electoral campaigns leading to large numbers of increase in voter participation. Some key contributions to this position include the following:♦ Served as liaison between non-profit organizations and youth stake holders, aligning programs with overall organizational mission.♦ Coordinated grassroots partnerships with state-wide student, community and labor organizations, establishing voter education in support of planning and program evaluation initiative resulting in a 5% increase is voter turn-out.♦ Utilized strong business, community development and interpersonal skills to secure $325,000 in grant funds while managing budget administration for external funding for over $4.5M.

In actively managing the tasks for the position of Dean of Students, I delivered guidance and leadership throughout all student affairs levels, promoting seamless operation between new student orientation, residence life, counseling, career services, student conduct, international student services, student life health and wellness, and additional organizational levels, reorganizing operations to ensure to increased levels of productivity and revenue production. I effectively increased first year student retention by 5% through leadership within retention services. Two key accomplishments for this position include:♦ Oversaw enrollment initiatives, promoting communications throughout organizational levels leading to an increase in the housing applicant pool by 19%.♦ Organized and facilitated strategic action in developing student housing plans leading to a 25% occupancy improvement and $750,000 increase annual housing revenue.

In this Campus Life leadership role it was prioritized to develop a comprehensive and collaborative mission-driven student leadership program. It was also crucial to benchmark, assess and evaluates students’ knowledge, skills and behaviors as they relate to leadership and cultural competency. Through innovate and intercultural experiential initiatives a co-curricular environment was cultivated that led to increases in student participation in clubs and organizations, community service and retention for on-campus students.
