Development Manager
Current- Responsible for the application architectural direction, development practises and procedures, QA and delivery & release management functions.- Implement continual workflow optimisation. Regular client interaction at both management and end user level.- End to end project lifecycle management through Agile SCRUM.- Introduced Agile practices to the development team to improve project efficiency and achieve successful and timely deliveries.- Implemented Extreme Programming practices of pair programming with remote and local workforce to improve quality of output and improved on boarding of new resources.- Use of TFS (SCRUM template) for source control, workflow and bug tracking.- Integrated a 3D Visualisation engine into the Drill Management Suite, Enspec’s core C#.Net product. This pioneering technology delivered the ability to see many concurrent drilling operations and multiple disparate data sources (ranging from 3rd party sourced CAD documents to application data from a SQL database) in one 3D view.- Use of Microsoft SQL Server database replication to transfer data from an occasionally connected site to central data hub.- Implemented significant optimisation of low performing areas in the database by reviewing and a reimplementing the existing indexing strategies.- Designed and developed a head up display (HUD) tool for drillers, reducing the need for multiple expensive resources to be assigned to each drilling location. Data is transferred and reviewed from a central location and instructions are relayed as required. This led to significant cost saving per operation and ability to increase capabilities without expanding the existing team.
