What do managing back pain and managing a software development team have in common?More than you'd think.My background in technology, science and research initially lead me to the chiropractic treatment room before carrying me forwards to the digital product environment I'm in today, and they're not as different as you'd think.They both require the ability to deep dive into peoples' behaviours, motivations and behavioural tendencies, and use that understanding to create a strategy that allows them to move from surviving to thriving. These analytic and problem solving skills are equally applicable when it comes to digital or physical behaviour.In my work, I seek out the opportunity to apply my sharp focus on efficiency and optimisation to software, product design, or managing teams and stakeholders. In hindsight, the transfer of skills from chiropractic to product design was so smooth that the industries are more similar than not. Only the tools and outcomes are different- that and the fact that nobody has sent me a Christmas pudding this year for curing their migraines, but I'm sure that will come.
