During my time at Cougar, I completed reliability investigations for downhole failures involving drilling motors, jars, thrusters, and shock tools. I took the ASM Principles of Failure Analysis course and used this as a resource to improve the confidence in our reports! As part of a sustainability initiative, I took on a design project involving 3 tiers of design upgrades to our drilling motors! These tiered design concepts will greatly improve the reliability of Cougar motors while minimizing scrap costs.

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

At PME/Ellisdon Industrial, I worked as a construction estimator. I looked at various types of drawings, including foundation, mechanical, and P&IDs, and completed takeoffs to begin the estimating process. I was also involved with other departments, including working with HR achieve culture goals, by connecting them with campus clubs and organizations to help increase the diversity of job applicants.

CCI is an industry leader in consulting pipeline trenchless crossings. While I was there, I applied my knowledge of stress to design pipeline crossings across major rivers, highways, railways, and more. I coordinated a weekly safety talk and quality improvement talk for our entire engineering team. I provided support in to several other departments such as construction and document control while keeping up with my engineering workload. I participated a lot in our social committee, where I strengthened our vibrant company culture and coordinated events such as potlucks and raffles throughout my 8 months.

I worked at ATCO Centre Edmonton completing preliminary design work for 25+ pipeline distribution systems around the Edmonton area. I spent many afternoons doing pre-construction site visits with our construction foremen to discuss project feasibility - these site visits helped me continually improve my design decisions and risk assessments. I wrote many tie-in and purge procedures, including emergency valve shut-off procedures. I volunteered personal hours for ATCO events, such as the annual two-week EPIC Fundraiser.

I cared full-time for a 17-year-old paraplegic male with cerebral palsy, and safely assisted with day-to-day activities. I learned his ways of communication, and communicated in different ways to meet his needs and abilities in a respectful manner. I used past tutoring experience to assist my client in completing extra-credit online courses to help him reach his goal of graduating high school with his class. I also kept up with my client's never-ending sarcastic comments and jokes.

At ABC Country, I coordinated reservations and events for groups of 2-50 people with appropriate coworkers for a smoother guest flow and a greater client satisfaction. I resolved customer issues in a timely manner and maintained positive relationships with regular customers.
