As the only DCGS-A FSE at COB Basrah, Camp Bucca, I filled in as the Iraq USD-South lead on four separate occasions. Times raged from a couple of days to almost a month. I was the DCGS-A Subject Matter Expert for Iraq USD-S and provided overall DCGS-A technical guidance to FSEs in the region. Both USD-South Leads realized my technical abilities and allowed me to be the “go to guy” for all DCGS-A support in the Region. As the only DCGS-A FSE assigned to Ft Sill, OK, I supported 7 MRXs/FTXs/DIGEXs/NET Training/TOCEX events for 75th FiB, 214 FiB, 45th FiB, Ft Sill MCTC and 31st ADA BDE. Support included imaging, configuration, post clone, and daily maintenance of unit systems. As the FSE I covered 3 DCGS-A WSS (all with v3.1.6 on R610 and R905 Dell server platforms). I conducted the fielding of equipment to units on Fort Sill. I fielded all three WSS from equipment setup to unit upgrade to new equipment and software to post configuration of all servers and BALs. I completed this task while simultaneously supporting two unit CPXs and a DCGS-A new equipment training NET.
