IT Recruitment

I worked at Hamilton Brown heading up their IT Recruitment Team. We worked remotely and I was allowed remit to work on various geographical markets.In particular I recruited from the US, and had clients in New York and Boston. In Tokyo, Japan. And I recruited extensively in the BeNeLux region concentrating on SAP contractors.

I recruited in the IT Sales sector throughout the Middle East and worked with clients from a vast array of companies including SME's and also many Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Cisco.I provided outsourced staff in the UAE (mainland and freezone), and also provided fully compliant outsourced solutions in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and many many more.

During my time at Experis, I was brought in to develop the Technical Contracting desk, concentrating solely on the United Arab Emirates, finding new business, and filling all of the positions working in a 360 degree recruitment role.Due to the sheer volume of work brought in, I also successfully recruited non technical positions in areas such as administration and finance.During my time at Experis/Manpower I won the top biller award and I managed to successfully find and recruit candidates for large multinational companies such as CISCO, Hewlett Packard, General Electric, ExxonMobil and VISA.

As a Recruitment Consultant based in Warrington I operated successfully across the West Midlands area, starting on a cold desk and taking it to heights that it had never hit in the previous 10+ years.My focus was the Software Development area of IT, focussing on Microsoft technolgies. I was highly successful generating new clients and servicing them-placing Software Developers, Analysts, Technical Architects, Project Managers and IT Managers with mainly SME's across the West Midlands.Evolution had an excellent training process and this role taught me how to perform my role to great success, being promoted a number of times as I achieved each objective that I was set.

To be a part of a door team that works efficiently with each other planning successful outcomes for every eventuality. Making sure that I know where all fire escapes are and the correct procedure to follow in the event of an emergency. The ability to make quick, split second decisions is paramount in this role. Communicate with outside agencies such as the police, fire and ambulance service. Also other door staff, management and drunk or drugged clubbers, all these people are from different backgrounds so is vital to keep a fair and equitable manner at all times.

During my time at A Star I worked in various roles as I learned and developed my skills.I was a Recruitment Consultant supplying skilled and unskilled workers for short or long term temporary vacancies across Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.There was a lot of business development required with this role as I helped to set up the St Helens branch, bringing in completely new business and then helping to service these requirements to great effect with no commercial recruitment experience prior to this.

Compiled professional letters, minutes and reports for internal and external distribution. Use of filing systems and accurate record saving procedures on computerised databases. Ensured all appraisals and training took place as necessary as well as advised on welfare support and ensured the accuracy of the records and storage in accordance with the Data Protection Act and confidentiality. Produce work of a high standard that is shown to be accurate. Methodical and detailed when dealing with queries of all natures. Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft packages and being completely PC literate was essential for my role. Calculating and authorising leave for over 500 personnel ensuring that all details are correct and remain accurate. Dealing day to day with customers, either face to face or over the phone and the ability to know when to ask questions but equally know when to listen. Additional duties included fire fighting, I was part of the team who covered the fire fighting strikes in 2005, boarding other ships and searching for drugs and other contraband, being part of the Replenishment at Sea Team when the team is taking on more fuel and stores. Also part of various security teams on board ships and other MOD establishments.
