As InterVarsity's Director of Experience Strategy, my role is to partner with National Directors to use the broader principles of User Experience Design to solve organizational challenges.- Co-wrote InterVarsity's Digital Strategy with the VP of Technology and VP of Communications- Co-write InterVarsity's Communications Strategy with the Director of Corporate Communications- Manage large-scale user research with our third-party research firm- Continue managing the product design team and be lead designer on core products.

I was brought to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA to bring a new awareness to human-centered design and its importance to non-profit organizations.My role has evolved from product design into design strategy as I've encouraged us to move away from building final products immediately and to instead embrace design sprints, prototyping, and user research. Furthermore, I've been transforming how we work together – for the first time in these sprints working cross-functionally across all parts of the organization; particularly including our target audience as we make decisions.- Started InterVarsity's UX Internship program in 2019- Set UX discipline standards - user research plan templates, interview scripts, project management flow, client relationships.- Created InterVarsity's first digital Design System based in FigmaWhile managing a team and the operations of the discipline, I was also lead designer for some of our core products:- Designed our new Internal Staff Portal on a Salesforce Community.- Designed the new Student Leader app for Greek Ministry.- Created the technology strategy and implemented for InterVarsity's first 100% digital student conference

As a User Experience (UX) Engineer at Ansira, my primary responsibility is advocating for the user in a project from discovery to final product. My specific deliverables are interactive prototypes developed in Axure, sitemaps developed in XMind, and other relevant diagrams. Day to day, I am collaborating with others, educating them on my discipline and learning from their disciplines. We don't throw things over the fence - we work together. When I am not on client work, I have taken on extra responsibilities by being part of the Improvement Taskforce which seeks to improve internal processes at the agency. Additionally I mentor our UX intern through an intentional program to grow their strategy and UX skills.

I have worked with the Outreach and Discipleship teams to improve the seeker experience throughout the Evangelism and Discipleship process. This has included:-mapping the flow of 250+ sites using LucidChart.-identifying problem areas, such as incorrect content and broken site flows,-upgrading the sites to be dynamic and responsive by using the micro-framework Silex-building Twig templates-building custom CSS,-Completely rebuilding the design and reworking the information architecture of our flagship site, GodLife.com -Running and developing A/B tests for site optimizationThese sites are especially interesting because they are multi-lingual and need to work on global devices and speak to global audiences. This results in two interesting problems: 1) the cultural context - I have researched how websites work across most geographical regions2) handling older devices - I typically write in pure JavaScript and custom build CSS to optimize site loading and ensure that older devices can load the sites.In the absence of QA staff, I am responsible for developing usability and functionality tests and carrying out the testing of our sites on our in-house devices. I have also done extensive work in building new features for our proprietary response system. Using Illustrator and InvisionApp I mockup and demo new features to help visualize requirements for requirement approval. Then I work with another developer to get the feature built. This audience uses a wide variety of devices and is typically 50+ which means the interface must be extremely easy to use. In addition, I also do some graphic design work creating images for Facebook and ads for the Marketing and Outreach team. Prior to switching CMS systems, I worked with Drupal to add content to our main discipleship website, GodLife.com. Currently, we are using Bolt.cm as our CMS.Currently, my job is split 50/50 between Tech and Discipleship Strategy work.

I had the pleasure of working with the Information Architecture Delivery team. I worked with Oracle's Universal Content Management System to help maintain and update Chick-fil-A's intranet. This also involved training other Chick-fil-A employees to maintain their own content.
