Conceived and developed a Node.js application for tracking actions and processing visitor action analytics to be presented to producers on the main site.Provided development support for the Android port of the popular This American Life mobile application as well as station applications.Developed Ruby on Rails backed Angular.js applications using TDD and BDD methodologies.Co-lead project design and development of the Public Radio Remix mobile applications, including acting as sole developer on the Android version.Developed an open source library for playing longform audio on the Android platform.Designed and wrote a dynamic ad serving platform in Node.js that powers Serial and many Radiotopia programs.Designed and built an embeddable javascript audio library for playing back dynamically defined audio with enhanced, time-triggered actions defined by the application serving the audio.Built the first version of Pop Up Archive.

I developed large and small scale applications on the LAMP stack for several companies. I also performed significant upgrades to an internal development platform/CMS in order to provide management of multiple properties from one administrative panel and restructured a monolithic system to be module/plugin based.

I ensured a quality of service on a large number of servers in two datacenters by monitoring for out-of-control processes, spam, and attempted hacks.

I worked with a team of individuals to replace the computers for Newport News Public Schools. My responsibilities largely involved solving problems with the data migration suite as they arose, and monitoring the installation process to ensure that such problems happened as infrequently as possible.

At these elected positions, I pushed for a migration from the severely limited server we were currently using to an inexpensive hosting provider, developed a Database-Driven application for the management of shows and photographs on the LAMP stack, and acted as liaison between the radio station and record labels. I also initiated a playlist management utility which would eliminate paper playlists and simplify reporting to royalties companies.
