About Dima I.
Even before I got my first product role, my entrepreneurial experiences led me to coordinating teams who delivered software products from ideation to initial traction and subsequent iteration - conducting 100+ hours of interviews as part of UX research and customer development, producing multiple epic spec sheets and prioritising work based on frameworks I had learnt from online courses. I also had to roll up my sleeves, pick up technical skills and contribute both as a designer and as a developer when our team faced bottlenecks. This gave me a first-hand insight into the nuances of designers' and developers' work which allows me to better streamline effective communication as well as collaboration in cross-functional teams.When I joined Smart as a Junior Product Owner, I realised that I had to transform myself from the jack of all traits to the master of one. This was the only way for me to maximise my value to the company. Since then, I have become the “go-to” person for my product area (benefit groups and eligibility) who both internal and external stakeholders trust with complex and ambiguous product problems. After being promoted, I had to keep our squad motivated despite the challenges of the recent company-wide restructure. I made it my mission to resolve any bottlenecks I encountered - from internal process inefficiencies that slowed down delivery to product features that fueled operational costs. At the same time, I repeatedly found myself acting as a mediator while managing conflicting expectations and priorities of various stakeholders across the company.Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar and exploring new perspectives (through books, podcasts and movies) as well as new places (bt travelling). I am especially interested in digital accessibility and inclusive design.
