Profile bio

About Jesse Gomez

I currently spend my time doing a mix of AWS based DevOps, React based front end programming, and backend in NodeJS and Python as a tech lead as Amazon Web Services, making interactive, real-time, fleet-robotics monitoring and control applications inspired by my experience in the video game industry. What’s next for me will likely involve the intersection of (or translation between) bits and atoms. Software for robotics, data visualization, control systems, IOT and sensor networks all pluck at my heartstrings and where I spend most of my hobby hours.Previously, I've built teams in startups, headed R&D efforts, created award winning websites, and native IOS applications for clients like Sony, Riot Games, and Jaybird while creative coding at Super Top Secret.I've been a professional programmer for 15 years, finding innovative ways to complete projects involving a wide variety of programming disciplines. My programming experience includes developing native iOS apps, frontend and backend web application development, data visualization, AR/VR applications, 2D web-based game development, 3D game development, embedded programming, IOT and wearables, investment prototypes, and MVP creation. My first career was as a graphic designer, complete with an art degree, 10 years of production experience and 2 years as an Art Director. As a former multimedia artist, I'm well versed in the processes of graphic design, web design, animation, 3D modeling, F/X compositing, and broadcast graphics - which often comes in handy as a developer - and gives me common ground when working with other team members and other departments. I use a design-first approach and work hard to support creative teams anyway I can.

Listed skills include Unity, C#, Unity3D, Augmented Reality, and 41 others.

Director Of R&D / Founding Engineer

Salt Lake City, Utah, Us

Founding Engineer of Morph3D building the product lineup and development team. The nine or so projects created over my two years required the full gamut of my experience as a former artist (3D modeller, UI designer, and animator in particular), and as a developer making full stack web apps, IOS apps, and Desktop apps.Main efforts were developing a dynamic 3d Character platform that redefines character based content in the 3D gaming industry. Products include the Morph Character System for Unity, along with artist tools and a 3D cloud content delivery service for studios. My daily job duties involved balancing the needs of building a development team, and creating prototypes of next-generation 3D creation tools that we can build upon. Spent last year creating prototypes, presenting to investors, and planning strategic vision for Morph's virtual reality offerings. Some of these demos involved software / hardware hybrid experiences on custom hardware for full blended reality experiences.Though it started as a purely engineering position, the startup nature of our business required me to expand my skills into product management, business strategy, and public speaking. I was also able to expand my technical abilities into 3D graphics related algorithms and data science.Tech Stack : Unity, C#, Python, Django, FlaskDisciplines : AR / VR, 3D game programming, Desktop development, mobile development, data science, linear algebra, MVP, public speaking, investment pitches, team building.
