My second-year MSW field placement, where I worked to create anti-oppressive, anti-racist curriculum at the schools of social work across NYC through classroom presentations, workshops, and practice labs. I facilitated classroom presentations and campus workshops, including Columbia University, NYU, and Hunter College. I've implemented an annual fundraising campaign (over $7,000); I helped manage the budget and coordinate fundraising efforts with academic institutions. I helped develop innovative social media campaign that increased our Instagram followers by 100%, Facebook followers by 20%, and personally created the LinkedIn page. I also developed graphic design materials for use in marketing and communications.

I interacted daily with students and alumni at the front desk, often acting as the first point of contact for the Center. I maintained the Center's professional environment through phone etiquette and friendly client-oriented service, and I was also assigned research and marketing projects with career counselors and supervisors, spanning four teams. I supported the Center’s daily operations by providing resources and assessing needs for students, alumni, and employers. Lastly, I assisted the Employer and Alumni Relations team by approving jobs through our online platform, LionSHARE.

Responsibilities were divided between four different tasks: Life Lines, the Co-op Development Project (CDP), the Co-op Leadership Institute, and the Adult Employment Program (AEP). For Life Lines, an after-school arts and drama program for 75 middle school students, helped facilitate Group Time with 6th graders and lent support to 8th grade Leadership projects.For CDP, working with Golden Steps, the Elder Care Cooperative, its Management Fellowship, and its advisory board. Assisted the co-op president and vice president in Spanish to English translation, utilized computer literacy to optimize program effectiveness, and corresponded with legal, business, and marketing resources. For the Co-op Leadership Institute, helped develop a pilot program on leadership with Social Justice and Management tracks in order to increase the skill set of co-op members.AEP involved doing intake interviews, explaining the program’s services, making referrals, and directly connecting clients to other resources (food stamps, legal aid). Prepared clients for job readiness and assisted in orientations for the world of work through a cultural competency perspective. Also carried a small caseload of clients who were interested in career exploration.

Worked at The Harker School's Summer Institute as the co-principals' only personal assistant for three summers. Handled administrative tasks, such as relaying messages to parents, coordinating between faculty members, and taking attendance for around 600 students with PCR School Software. Communicated with parents on issues relating to attendance, occasionally in Chinese and designed displays.

Scripps College

Personally nominated by class presidents to join a six-person committee as part of student government. Planning time-honored events for the class of 2016, such as 100 Days, Senior Brunch, and mixers with the Dean. Devising new fundraising efforts to supplement budget and creating new traditions.

Interned for four hours a week and divided my time between mentoring two at-risk high school students and administrative HR work. Tutored English and Psychology with their Connect to College access program, and worked on administrative tasks related to volunteer recruitment and screening. Assisted with outreach activities as the sole on-campus liaison between Uncommon Good and Scripps College. Figured out logistics for the Northern California college tour for at-risk juniors.
