Whenever people asked me about "What's your major?" I have been answering it in one word for about ten years, which is Astronomy. Every time they listened to my answer, they talked about their expectation with a very pleasant major because we can enjoy seeing the stars, planets, and all exciting objects in outer space. This space is a good platform for explaining what I've been learning for about these ten years. I have graduated from Astronomy with my Bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree. And currently, I am still studying Astronomy for a doctoral degree at Tohoku University. I indeed learned about planets, stars, and all exciting objects in outer space. However, it was not just staring them at the night sky but also figuring out what had been happened to them or what will happen with them. It makes me passionate about this major because we could know those objects' history in outer space and predict what will happen while we couldn't bring them to be checked in our laboratory directly.This passion carried me through my research about finding the best scenario for my object. I experienced using some fitting methods in python algorithm to figure out which star belongs to the open cluster. By this, I can also discover when the stars are born in that cluster. I am now still using python syntax to find Active galactic nuclei (AGN) by observing their narrow line emission in the optical wavelength spectrum. Besides the optical wavelength observation, X-ray and infrared observation are used to understand their nuclei structure better. AGN is an interesting object since it is one of the brightest un-explosive object in our universe (I don't argue for multiverse believers). It gives rich information about galaxy formation and evolution. However, there's certainly yet more to learn and yet more problems to solve. And for this, I am very excited.
