OnePassport is a patent-pending, cloud-based system for managing compliance and skills records that allows workers in highly regulated industries to manage their own information so that their employers don’t need to. I ensured the company led the way with an API strategy, something that was lacking in the space and which gave the business a distinct advantage over the slow and stubborn incumbents. To achieve this I investigated the feasibility and best approaches for technical integrations with partner and client data systems, then architected better data exchange capabilities via our APIs using event choreography.

Seeing the interest of moving traditional currencies atop of blockchain technologies, I created a product to enable my customers to move fiat currency in and out of the Ripple and Stellar distributed ledger technology networks. Major milestones in running this business were my partnerships with Ripple and Stellar, major players in that industry. I was especially proud that, in spite of my remote and isolated location, I had formed strong relationships with Silicon Valley companies.In operating a financial services provider I attended to a wide range of needs, including the development of a cloud-based product to handle taking payment instructions in USD, AUD, NZD, and BTC from clients that interfaced with multiple blockchains and distributed ledger networks.Recognizing the importance of compliance when most in the industry at the time ignored it, I implemented AML/CFT procedures including a KYC/CIP programme and systems to monitor and detect fraud and other suspicious activity.

At leanStream, a Canadian company and a major contract during my time as an remote independent contractor, I led the development of a SaaS analytics platform. The online platform provides the company's clients with a business intelligence solution that empowers media executives to make more informed decisions for their radio and on-demand media streaming departments. leanStream works with some of the top media and broadcasting companies in North America, with customers across NA and APAC.The solution required a sophisticated data processing engine and metrics calculator to be built as it has to handle BI queries in real-time involving billions of events over years of user interaction. Constituent technologies include C# .NET, (T)SQL, HTML/CSS/JS/JQuery and charting frameworks with management of a Windows Server + IIS + SQL Server environment.

I worked remotely as an independent contractor on software projects across the world with clients in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.Projects were in various industry verticals, including web data analytics, online music and book e-commerce, and accounting software. I maintained projects developed in C# and Java both on-premises and customer-hosted remotely, managing their infrastructure requirements with hosting on apache2/lighttpd on Linux servers and IIS on Windows servers as relevant.
