In the early years of my career, it looked like I was going to be a retail giant in the entertainment sector - a "PROFESSIONAL CARNY", if you will. After two wonderfully fun summers at Cedar Point, I headed to Florida the day after college graduation to work for the big cheese at Walt Disney World. It was a good fit, and I truly loved being a cast member. I could see myself working there forever. But life took me in a different direction. I chose to move to south Florida, get married, have children and assume the most difficult job IN THE WORLD...full-time Mommy. Oh, I loved the job - I always said when I grow up I'm going to be a Mom - and so I was. But the Mouse called me back - twice - as a member of two opening teams for the Disney Store. And...after five years, I finally had enough of that, and did other part time ventures to fill time while the boys were in school.It wasn't until my marriage ended that I returned to the working environment, and boy, let me tell you, it was hard. With a HUGE gap in work, there was nothing to prove I was going to be a valuable asset. But I met someone who saw something in me and soon I was crunching numbers. He also believed I was destined for more, which is why I moved out of the financial department into marketing, and I've never looked back.During my gap years, I taught myself how to use Microsoft Suite (pivot tables in excel - yup, I can do that), and I took courses at the local college to learn the Adobe Creative Suite programs. It all led me to where I am today.The pandemic opened my world to new possiblities and my new husband and I got the desire to move to a new location. On our first vacation to Myrtle Beach we both just felt like we were home. And when I met employees of HTC, I knew that there was something about the company that was calling me. It has been the best choice, and we are blessed to have a home by the beach.I've got several chapters left to write in this book of life, and I'm excited to see where life takes me. Hoping to see you along the way :)
