I've been fascinated by computers since at least the third grade, taking every programming class I could and becoming proficient in Python. In middle school I became very interested in Linux and open-source software, and made Linux my primary desktop operating system. In high school, I taught myself web development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, while taking computer science classes that allowed me to do self-guided work since I already knew most of their material. I also taught myself about network security, and both offensive and defensive cybersecurity, and participated in bug bounty programs. I In my last two years of high school, I was concurrently enrolled in the computer science program of Warren Tech, a vocational school, where I deepened my knowledge of operating system concepts and Python programming.In 2021, just after graduating high school, I began my college education at Colorado State University, studying Computer Science, later adding a specialization in Networks and Security. At CSU I learned the Java, C, and C++ programming language, all about low-level computing fundamentals and theory, and cybersecurity. I will graduate in May 2025.During university, I took two internships. The first was at Antero Resources, where I worked at the IT help desk, deploying software the company had purchased, repairing laptops, and evaluating suspected phishing emails. The second was at Ventera Corporation, where I learned how to work in an Agile development team, making an app with Angular, TypeScript, and Node Express, deployed to a CentOS Linux server.I have also made non-code contributions to the Retrospring, Freedoom, and GNOME open-source projects, and created one of the official themes for PicoCMS. I hope to contribute more to open-source in the coming years.
