I am currently a surgical skills coordinator who will be organizing & teaching Basic & Advanced Surgical skills at the workshops hosted by the Surgical Society to help teach & improve attendees' knowledge & practical skillset.Having attended Basic, Advanced, Laparoscopic & Vascular Surgical Skills Workshops alongside time in theatre I'm passionate about introducing & developing my peer's surgical skillset for their own future use!

Having been elected as the Director of teaching for the University of Birmingham's Cardiovascular Society (CardioSoc), I will be responsible for helping organize & develop the teaching materials in any academic/teaching events hosted by the Society, such as (but not limited to!);- Revision Sessions for both the Cardiovascular Module (Year 2) & Cardiology Module (Year 3)- Academic questions & case scenarios gradually released via the CardioSoc instagram page- Teaching sessions as part of the CardioSoc conference & any other workshops hosted!

Deliver clinically relevant anatomy teaching alongside the rest of the clinical representatives on behalf of the anatomy society to Birmingham Medical Students01/10/24 - Co-delivered the "Intro to year 2 Anatomy" lecture giving insights to the New Year 2 MBChB students at UOB, some feedback we received:"Found it very helpful to know what’s coming up :)""Session was really useful and well split into the sections, helped to guide my initial revision too"

Work alongside the rest of the events committee to organize research events & taster sessions further bridging the gap between clinical & academic medicine & thus allowing medical students to have better access into research opportunities!

Currently the Co-Lead for the RA1 teaching series which introduces Pre-Clinical Years to the anatomy of the Thorax, Abdomen, vertebral column & their clinical correlates.I will be developing & presenting slides based on these topics & ensuring a high quality of teaching is delivered within the RA1 teaching series!

On behalf of the Trauma & Orthopaedics society, I will be responsible for creating, advertising & updating our content/media pages in order to help the society grow & showcase the exciting events we have planned during the year whilst also monitoring the media pages to ensure any messages/concerns are responded to ASAP!

I have been successfully chosen to create 2 short (1-2 minute) videos on a surgical topic of my choosing to be uploaded on behalf of SUPTA onto their social media account(s). As a result I picked 1.Laparotomy & 2. Trans-sphenoidal surgery in which I talk about the following concepts in more detail relative to each procedure: Definition & Overview- Indications- Procedure Steps- Challenges- Post-op Care- Conclusion

I was delighted to become a CAWC affiliated Mentor under their 2023/24 mentorship scheme, where I was a dedicated mentor to a medical student in the year below!I checked in with my mentee on a weekly basis (Every Saturday) & would always ask if they need academic advice, revision/teaching sessions from myself, resource or anything else academic that they could need & acted upon their requests promptly!It was a pleasure to be a mentor & to see my mentee succeed in their exams!
