As MITA Chief Financial Officer, Ivan Alessandro is responsible for the financial stewardship of the Agency and he is also responsible for the procurement, contracting, GDPR, licensing, performance management and corporate legal aspects of the Agency. His role is to ensure that the Agency has a strong financial strategy, whilst ensuring long-term financial sustainability and compliance with applicable legislation.Key experiences include:- Financial stewardship and governance, including: budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, commercial insight, and strategic planning decisions- Leading transformational change and continuous process improvement - Active participating in Board Meetings, Executive and Operational Committees- Negotiating with international strategic players in the IT Industry- Leading and implementing strategic IT programmes across Government during the past 3 years- Drafting feasibility studies and project financing proposals- Entusisticly leading, engaging and developing, a team of 25+ peoplePrior to the role of CFO, he was Financial Controller of MITTS Ltd. In this role, he was instrumental to several success stories and reforms, including: the implementation of a cost management accounting framework, implementation of MITTS Ltd business model, cost optimization initiatives and development of various procedures and processes. He also worked as Financial Controller of MCST and EuroMediti and was appointed the National Contact Point for Legal and Financial Matters of the FP7 R&I Funds during the period 2007 and 2009. He was responsible for the respective entities financial restructuring and implementation of EU Projects funds management controls.Prior 2011, he had vast experience in the private sector, successfully implementing financial systems, re-structuring of small businesses, and holds an exemplary understanding of project financing, business valuations and financial due diligence assignments.He graduated as an accountant in 2001 and holds a CPA warrant, an Executive MBA with Distinction from Anglia University and is also a certified AIIM Business Process Management Specialist. He obtained certificates in Forensic Accounting (West Virginia University), Negotiations and Conflict resolution (EESEC Business School), and Data Protection (EIPA) amongst others. He is a fellow member of the Malta Institute of Accountants, AIIM and a member of ICAEW Finance and Management Faculty UK.
