I was working at IBM as a software engineer and 23K of us lost our jobs as a result.It happened again in 2008, when we hit the recession. I lost my job as a Systems Engineer with an oil and gas company.It happened a 3rd time, when I was working with the Department of the Navy and they lost the contract that I was working with.Each time, I was unprepared for losing my high income job.
