Lab-rotation student in the group of Dr. Axel Mogk investigating the role of the N-terminal Domain in the oligomerization and activity of the bacterial disaggregase ClpL.

I performed the research for my Bachelor Thesis at the IBC2 in the group of Prof. Ivan Đikić under the supervision of Dr. Lina Herhaus. There I investigated the role of a hitherto little known GTPase (IRGQ) in the autophagy-mediated degradation of MHC Class-I proteins. I gained experiences in protein-biochemistry and in biochemical and molecular biological methods, such as Western Blot, Immunofluorescence confocal microscopy and cell culture of cancer cell lines.

In this position I supervised students in a practical focussing on animal and plant diversity. There, I gained skills in leadership, team building and conveying knowledge to students.

I performed this internship during my Bachelor program in the group of Prof. Ivan Đikić at the BMLS. I learned and completed several tasks for maintaining the research environment in a laboratory, such as preparation of buffers and culturing media and casting of SDS-gels. The internship included ~10h/week.
