I have worked as a freelance children's book illustrator and author for over twenty years, partnering with publishers such as Walker Books (new book out spring 24) Candlewick Press, Scholastic, OUP, Random House, Harcourt, Brubaker Ford & Friends and Hodder, both in the UK and USA. I am highly skilled and experienced in traditional illustration media, selling nearly two million books with authors such as Sam McBratney, Lisa Wheeler, Cynthia Rylant and Alexander McCall Smith. I offer a proven classic style that suits picture books and educational publishing for ages up to approximately eleven years, including both colour and black and white work.My 15 years experience as a primary school teacher has allowed me to develop and deliver a variety of well structured, successful illustration/story workshops and talks at both primary and secondary level. These vary from one hour talks to whole day events with year groups EYFS to year 8.Within my educational setting I lead Art, Music, Emotion Coaching, interactive/drama based learning and teaching and staff well-being.
