I studied Occupational Health and Safety in University of Limerick and graduated with an honours diploma in 2007. I also studied Business Studies in University of Limerick and graduated with an honours degree with a major in Risk Management & Insurance in 2005. I have worked with Roadbridge since 2005 on a variety of Construction Projects such as a Residual Landfill, Relief Roads, Motorways, Bulk Silo Storage Units, Oil Terminal, Road Tunnel, O&M phase of a tolled route and a Gas Terminal with associated onshore pipeline. Since joining the firm, I operated as part of a committed safety team which epitomises regularity adherence combined with a practical approach, while promoting a strong, pro-active health & safety culture on all projects worked on. I partake in focus groups, both Company & Client led, which actively seek to develop and implement project specific behavioural safety programmes. I lead cross project Safety behavioural training programmes focusing on Intervention and employee participation on a peer to peer basis.In my role, I have created and updated the project management systems which address site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare and emergency arrangements. A detailed Emergency Response Plan together with the co-ordination of Drills forms an integral part of my daily duties.I also have instigated the use of a web based auditing system on the project which has now been adopted both cross company and with other companies working on the Corrib project. Incident Investigation is a prime responsibility in my current role. I am trained under the Tri-pod Beta Incident Investigation process and have led numerous investigations cross-project. Over the past three years, I have led the company NISO safety awards submissions resulting in the Construction Civil Engineering award, Presidents Award & Consistent High Achievers Award.
