For this summer fellowship at California Institute of the Arts, my role is to edit archive materials in the estate of late composer James Tenney to ready them for publication. This includes typesetting of musical scores and editing AI transcriptions of writings/interviews.

For the 2024 winter session at California Institute of the Arts, I taught a class to undergraduate and graduate students on the music of American composer Henry Threadgill.

For the 2023 fall semester, I assisted Marc Lowenstein’s Songwriting 101 class. My responsibilities included grading homework assignments, lecturing when Marc was absent, and handling some general communications.

For a short period before the Covid lockdown, I did canvassing for American Bridge’s “Wisconsin Deserves Better” project.

At Maestoso Music Academy, I taught saxophone, clarinet, and piano to students of various ages.

At Brighter Minds Music, I taught piano lessons to students ages 6-12.

At the White Squirrel bar in Saint Paul MN, I curated a weekly experimental music series.

At the YWCA, my job was to greet and assist members at the Midtown MPLS YWCA.

For the Zeitgeist New Music Ensemble’s SOUNDING GROUND composer residency program, I was commissioned to compose a piece for the ensemble over a several month period of collaborative sessions.

For the month of November 2022, I curated the Monday Night Jazz series at Icehouse in Minneapolis, MN.

At the Seward Co-op grocery store in Minneapolis, MN, I worked the seafood counter and conducted minor butchering duties.

In the months leading up to February 19, 2019, I made several transcriptions of the music of Henry Threadgill for the festival. I also performed in this festival, and curated ensembles.

Blugold Beginnings is a University of Wisconsin Eau Claire organization that works to create a positive relationship with the University and the community, as well as serving and promoting the enrollment and well-being of students from backgrounds underrepresented at the University. Simply Jane ArtAble is a paint studio in Minneapolis that offers drop-in free paint and summer camps for adults and children with special needs & disabilities. My job was to assistant teach the summer camp’s art lessons, as well as supervise children on trips to other locations. My responsibilities also include running the drop-in paint studio at times.
