Serve as Member of the Information Systems Advisory Team, High Performance Computing Advisory Committee and Ocean Informatics Working Group.Highlight of Achievements:• Drive progress of diverse initiatives by identifying critical insights, extracting and translating terabytes of data from ocean and climate model simulations, satellite imagery and field surveys through the use of statistical models and techniques.• Improve the management strategy of high-value fisheries by developing new machine learning models and using satellite and field data to gain understanding of the impact of future climate change on top-grossing wild-caught fisheries (American Lobster and Atlantic Sea scallop) in the northwest Atlantic. • Enhance long-range planning and policy formulation by academic institutions, advocacy organizations and program managers by using topic modeling to identify trends in research and science funding. • Integral to strengthening investment and hiring decisions and to designing policies and solutions to remedy identified disparities and improve diversity, equity and inclusion in universities and academic institutions by assessing and quantifying gender inequalities in academia using publicly available data from funding agencies (National Science Foundation, Division of Ocean Sciences).• Substantially boost accuracy and applicability of projected outcomes by developing software tools for statistical evaluation of model results against observational data.• Accelerate innovation and significantly increase impact of work by using interactive visualizations of large and complex data sets to communicate findings and insights to collaborators, stakeholders and the public.
