Calling major corporations'​ credit card holders across the nation to sell a variety of $50. programs over the phone, billed to their accounts. Once, I was honored in front of 200 of my co-workers for being top salesperson of the month (for their Sears project), was introduced as "Carl the mailman Freeman"​, after the N.B.A. star Karl "the mailman" Malone, because I always deliver.

One of the top ten electrical repair companies in Columbus, branched out into home remodeling, and someone I knew referred me to the opening. I did well, doing a variety of new and experienced things canvassing, and calling new prospects, giving estimates, selecting a sub-contractor, and even purchasing materials for blacktops, gutter, roof, siding, and window replacements.

Securing prospects for solar and swimming pool salesmen. Base pay plus commissions, enjoyed working with a fun group of young men and women fellow marketers. In the summers, I designed 3 different energy cards (of 3 different colors), and passed them out from our booths at fairs and festivals around Central Ohio.

I had met one of the founders of Executive Fund Life Ins Co, which was based regionally in Dayton, Ohio, and he lured me to work with his independent agency in Columbus. Here, I mostly converted prospects' whole life insurances to term life.

Sold accident insurance to existing and new policyholders, based out of the Columbus office. Long hours 6 or 7 days a week paid off in December 1980, when I was #2 in the nation for one week, selling that disability policy, according to the parent company, based in Santa Monica, California.

Worked at Fort Wilderness, in Pioneer Hall. Met the family from Germany (about 20 people) who owned Volkswagon, who had a picnic (I served beer) right next to Pioneer hall in 1980. In 1979, I was the first male to ever try-out for Disney Ambassador (paid $100,000. a year, with world-wide travel), one of the 4 female contestants won. During this stay, I joined the Mormon church (left a long time ago). And personally knew Bill Nelson, because I volunteered in his freshman U.S. Congressional office in Orlando in the late 70's, a church member was a paid staff member. He was on a Columbia Space flight in the 1980's. One of only 2 members in the history of U.S Congress to be an Astronaut. Currently, Bill Nelson is a US Senator from Florida (the other one, not Marco Rubio).
