I have been working in the field of English language teaching for over 16 years now.I started out with tutoring people when I was still a university student in Ufa.After graduating, I spent three years working at my alma mater, where I taught students majoring in English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Romanсe and Germanic Philology.At some point, I started getting commissions as an interpreter for international delegations visiting my hometown on diplomatic and business purposes. Long story short, I was offered a job in the local government and had a nine-month stint as a specialist in foreign economic relations in the city administration.I quickly realized that my new occupation wasn’t exactly my cup of tea: there was quite a lot of routine paperwork and little to no spoken communication. So, after a while I started feeling restless and eventually decided to go back to teaching. However, I wanted it to be a step forward, so I set my sights on finding a job as an English language teacher in St. Petersburg. That is how I started working for Hop&Scotch, which I consider to be one of the best English language schools in Russia.In my 10+ years of being part of the Hop&Scotch team, I have done quite a lot of things: taught levels from Beginner to Proficiency, worked with General English and ESP classes, trained people for Cambridge exams, IELTS and TOEFL, designed language assessment procedures, and recruited and trained language teachers. Being a certified lead trainer for the Cambridge Train the Trainer course, I have trained quite a few teacher trainers, too.Currently, I am responsible for coordinating work of various academic divisions within the school and ensuring the best possible quality of our products and services.
