I am an experienced team leader and relationship builder with twenty five years of experience working with students from very diverse backgrounds. I am the Designated School Official who is the point of contact for our international students. From 2015-2018, I also provided leadership to our Kokomo Campus and supervised the recruitment and admissions staff in that region as well. In 2013, I was asked to be the interim director of Purdue University's Latino Cultural Center while the director was on leave. During that time, the Center was celebrating it's 10 year anniversary and an experienced higher educational professional was needed to manage the increased budget and coordinate anniversary programming. In 2011, I co-taught a class at Purdue University called LALS 495: Humanigration: A Border Experience, which prepared students to complete a weeklong immersive research project about the US-Mexico Border environment. In the past, I have worked closely with the Indianapolis Mexican Consulate where I hosted their Mobile Mexican Consulate Program on Ivy Tech Lafayette's campus. In 2010, I represented Ivy Tech and our service area at the 75th Bi-national Summit on Higher Education in Mexico City, sponsored by the Institute for Mexicans Living Abroad which is under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some of my past achievements include: Ivy Tech Exceptional Employee Service Award (2008, 2014), INACAC Leticia Campodonico Human Relations Award (2010), Tippy Connect Top 10 Under 40 Award (2011), Purdue Latino Faculty & Staff Outstanding Community Ally Award (2009), and DePauw University Alumni Community Leadership Award (2006).
