Dev/Mission aims to train untapped young adults ages 16-24 for careers in technology; so we can build wealth and prosperity in our local diverse communities. As the Lead Instructor my role is to create the syllabus, curriculum and daily lesson plans for each of our 3 tracks. We cover basic hardware and software fundamentals, HTML/CSS and Javascript programming and Critical Career Skills. I also maintain proper documentation of student's files, records and portfolios. Through intense and interactive curriculum, I strive to manage classroom behavior and interactions of students between 16-24 years old. My ultimate objective is to create a collaborative learning environment with students of varying backgrounds while building an atmosphere of respect and rapport.

As a certified CTE (Career And Technical Education) Teacher at Five Keys, I taught a beginners and intermediate digital literacy program for adults. I created, organized and executed lesson plans for the classroom in Spanish and English. While doing so, I attempted to adapt lessons based on different student learning styles and promoted interactive class participation. I also utilized pre-made and self-made assessments to determine student strengths and areas for improvement. I also facilitated a class that prepared students for the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification offered through Certiport.

While working at MEDA I facilitated three exciting and productive programs. First I created, organized and executed lesson plans for an IT Hardware/Software Essentials program called Mission Techies. Secondly, I created, organized and executed lesson plans for a bank teller training program. Both programs were for youth between 18-24 years old. Thirdly, I created, organized and executed lesson plans for a digital literacy program in Spanish for adults.

As an academic tutor, I organized and administered one-on-one academic tutoring sessions for students in grades 5-12 in math, biology, history and English. I was also responsible for supporting case managers by creating confidential evaluations detailing a student's progress. Working mainly with foster and at-risk youth, I had to identify and respond to different student's behavioral issues. As I gained the youth's trust I was also able to serve as a mentor and adviser.

At One Economy I was responsible for developing lesson plans and instructional materials for computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications in a program called Digital Connectors for students between 14-21 years old. As part of the program, I also trained students in Media Literacy – using programs such as Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, iMovie and Movie Maker. We also helped students become familiar with financial literacy concepts regarding personal finance, saving and investing. Lastly, I also facilitated curriculum involving college preparedness, job readiness and career awareness.

As a Network Support Engineer I was responsible for creating, editing and maintaining Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange accounts. My main obligations were to have all hardware, software and phone related equipment prepared for new hires, as Stub Hub was a rapidly growing startup company at the time. This included port activation, light cabling, printer setup and granting shared drive access. I also Installed, configured, and/or troubleshooted various Windows applications including Microsoft Professional Office Suite, Microsoft Access, MS Project, etc.

Once promoted, I was responsible for managing the Help Desk team, composed of up to 5 staff members, and provide technical support to over 1500 staff and instructors, on more than 500 desktop computers and 50 laptops. I also was responsible for researching, picking, negotiating, installing and configuring a new Help Desk ticketing solution for the University. In addition, I also created curriculum and facilitated weekly training sessions for staff on topics such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, shared drives and Windows. Finally, I was solely responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all specialized Financial Aid and Accounts Receivable computers and software due to strict, confidential policies.

I was responsible for monitoring incoming emails/phone calls to IT Help Desk and create trouble tickets during a rotating schedule. When I was not monitoring the Help Desk, I was responsible for closing tickets in the cue. The tickets were usually for first and second level support. I would also install, configure, and/or troubleshoot various Windows applications including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, MS Project, map shared drives, install network printers, scanners and other hardware.
