The idea to become a lifeguard wasn't just about getting a job, it was a about doing something that I am passionate about. I have been swimming just as long as I was walking. My parents got me involved with the DMSF swim team and I joined Valley High school boys swim team as a sophomore. Knowing that my proficiency in swimming could be utilized to ensure the well-being of others made the decision to pursue lifeguarding an easy one. It's not just a job; it's a meaningful way to apply a skill I love while making a difference in the safety of those around me. Plus I also had to learn CPR and First Aid.
