Managing the Child Protection Program for UNICEF National Response in Italy, overseeing a budget of approximately USD 3 million annually, with a team comprising 3 P3 staff members, 4 UN Volunteers, and 20 additional personnel.Serving as the Technical Lead for the Pilot Phase of the EU Child Guarantee in Italy (EU DG Employment), which involves piloting models to address the risk of poverty and social exclusion among the most vulnerable groups of children and conducting related research studies.Leading the expansion of the Child Protection Program, structured around four strategic pillars:- Child Protection in Emergencies (interventions at southern, northern borders and in transit areas)- Alternative Care and Guardianship for unaccompanied and separated children- Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention, Response, and Risk Mitigation- Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS)Coordinating and supervising research on alternative care and MHPSS in collaboration with relevant authorities, supervising needs assessments.Representing UNICEF in institutional forums and inter-agency UN coordination platforms. Acting as the technical lead for advocacy and policy on migration and asylum for UNICEF in Italy.Providing technical oversight for the EU DG-Home funded 2-year program focused on emergency response and child protection components. Supporting the 2-year Technical Support Instrument program funded by EU DG Reform on youth mental health in Italy, in collaboration with line ministries.Overseeing implementing partners (civil society organizations and academic institutions). Managing financial oversight of the portfolio, ensuring donor accountability and compliance with internal reporting requirements.Serving as a trainer on child protection issues and overseeing the development of training packages for professionals and practitioners.Acting as the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) focal point for the office.
