During my tenure at Yandex Go, I was a part of the dispatch algorithms group within the Project Combo team, focused on enhancing the efficiency of the Combo carpool tariff. This service is aimed at providing cost-effective rides with slight detours to accommodate companions.My role involved tackling various challenges within the complex dispatch system, spanning technical optimizations, refactoring, and product-oriented tasks. Notable accomplishments during my time include:1. Parallelization of the matching system.I enhanced the matching system by implementing parallelization, allowing concurrent processing of steps such as adding orders, matching orders, assigning drivers, and processing driver responses. This involved handling complex domain logic and highly concurrent data processing, leading to a significant boost in efficiency and product metrics.2. Antifraud Protection Implementation:I successfully implemented an anti-fraud protection mechanism that drastically reduced costs associated with fraudulent orders by fivefold. 3. Admin Panel Development:I created an API for the admin panel designed to collect and display crucial information related to the companion-finding process. This tool has become one of the most important tools for analytics.4. System of fallbacks for Fake Orders: I built a system of fallbacks to control the load from fake orders (which are used for machine learning). It helped us to release 20% of our service CPU and have a more balanced load during the day.5. Domain-Specific Task Accomplishments:I undertook numerous domain-specific tasks aimed at optimizing the order-matching process. These efforts contributed significantly to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our dispatch algorithms.
