Overall ResponsibilityResponsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems and data communications activities in the hotel. Forecast technology requirements and upgrades to existing technology to improve effectiveness of installed systems. Execute hotel and corporate systems strategies.Specific Responsibilities and Duties •Ensure critical systems, specifically Front Office Property Management System, Call Accounting and Food & Beverage point of sale computer systems, are available twenty-four (24) hours per day. •Ensure effective support for other systems, including back-office, sales &catering and human resources applications. •Coordinate any new system implementation, update or upgrade with hotel staff and hardware or software suppliers. •Establish and maintain system security procedures consistent with control requirements and corporate policy. •Develop new applications as requested by department heads after the approval of corporate office. Conduct system audits to maintain standardization and identify and correct problems before they occur. •Perform monthly comparison of system access logs to current employee status/positionSystems under review include: • Property Management System. • Accounting Manager (Accpac). • Reporting Manager (Hyperion System). • Point of Sale (POS) System. • Spa Management System HSIA•Daily backups taken on all key applications.•Report regularly to corporate on the status of assigned corporate projects. Meet annually with corporate projects, review the status of outstanding problems, and make recommendation for new projects based on needs of properties in region. •Ensures the hotel complies with corporate policy with respect to e-mail and internet access. •Ensure backup power supply system in place that can accommodate key systems for minimum 1-year period.•Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Configuring the WAN/LAN infrastructure consisting of dedicated Internet connectivity (Safaricom & KDN Wimax Technology), routers (Cisco 800 series Linksys, TP-Link, D-link series,) including Nano (Ubiquiti) technology (NS2, NS2L, PS5 stations,NB5) and Motorola Canopy TechnologyDuties:• Responsible for networking, design, installation and maintenance services. • Responding to Disaster recovery requests by clients• Configuration of pop email clients – Windows and Mac machines • Supporting users and network administrators over the telephone and by email. • Maintain the company’s network infrastructure. • Networking and providing support for Windows and Macintosh issues. • Configuration and testing of any new hardware and software. • Travelling to client sites to help with installs, deployment, and troubleshooting. • Management of the daily data backup and retrieval scheme.• Installing and operating Windows desktop operating systems. • Hardware maintenance and repair. • Training new employees. • Assistance with training of staff and compiling procedural documentation. • Assisting the CTO with support requests.
