Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Systems Engineer

European Space Agency DISC project to develop new Swarm data product using faceplate current and Langmuir probe measurements to infer ion drift and effective mass estimates.

Research funded by Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and European Space Agency (ESA) grants to investigate magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling using data from the Swarm and e-POP missions, with a strong focus on the role of Alfven waves in near-Earth plasma. Work involves the application of physics and various signal analysis methods, particularly with a multi-spacecraft focus. I work primarily in Matlab, occasionally in IDL and Fortran.

My work involves small-scale projects helping high-tech businesses and start-ups, specialising in sensor fusion/SLAM, Bayesian inferencing, data/signal analysis and metaheuristic algorithms. My projects have included developing control algorithms for shipborne antenna tracking, inferring missing terms from nonlinear biological models, improving profitability of financial trading algorithms, developing a next-gen navigation system, implementing image compression schemes, and developing cryptography algorithms.

Study of plasma waves in the inner magnetosphere using Cluster satellites. Radiation belt modelling using data-driven and physics-driven methods.
