Senior Planner
CurrentDesign and Manufacture of Slurry Valves for the mining industry.Management Position reporting to the Ops Manager.• Maintenance of manufacturing processes by using the Structure and Routings modules in Syspro.• Interpreting engineering data sheets, drawings, and estimates to create a production schedule for delivery.• Requisition and maintain inventory of material or supplies required to meet production needs by creating job cards and purchase orders via MRP or manual calculation.• Follow stock control and inventory system guidelines such as EBQs, safety stock levels, and replenishment parameters as well as maintenance of said guidelines.• Confer with department managers or other staff to evaluate progress and discuss necessary changes.• Modify production schedules when necessary due to design changes, labour or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, working with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.• Expedite customer orders and provide sales with progress reports and forecasts.• Compile and prepare documentation related to production processes, transportation, staffing schedules, or purchase, maintenance, or repair orders.• Handle non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.• Facilitate kick-off meetings for complex customer orders and projects.• Project management for new products or complex customer orders.• Managing production controllers/expediters and planners.• Work hand in hand with Designers on new products and how we expect to manufacture them.• Team meetings regarding obstacles, feedback and weekly reporting.• Project planning discussions with various departments to delegate and assign tasks to key players to execute project plan.• Kick-off meeting with sales team to determine scope and requirements of all incoming orders.• Feedback and reporting to management on performance, improvements and state of department. This includes identified risks and possible developments needed.
