Engineering researcher position at Swansea University, as part of Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A) engineering doctorate (EngD) scheme. A 4 year project, to analyse, model and design a control scheme for a heavy duty hot metal pouring system at Tata Steel Port Talbot Basic Oxygen Steel plant. The project involves the following: - Process analysis, employing elements of image segmentation and statistical data analysis, leading to identification of root causes for high flame conditions during pouring operations. (Paper publication on methodology and results)- Process modelling. A model of the pouring process created to serve as a test bed for control studies. Comprises of a multi-body model of the mechanical system, involved in the pouring process, and dynamic systems for prediction of flow rate and system parameters. - Design of a flow rate and position control systems. Completion of this project leads to the award of a Doctorate in Engineering. Thesis title: "Digital Twin Application for Analysis and Design of an Automated Large Scale Steel Plant Ladle Pouring System".

Graduate position with Tata Steel projects department at Port Talbot. The role included management and commissioning of process control, instrumentation and automation projects within the sites integrated power plant and energy distribution networks.

Year long electrical engineering placement with Tata Steel Port Talbot Energy department, as part of the year in industry university scheme. Working with process control & automation team, within the department, the role included:- Maintenance of control and instrumentation equipment.- Maintenance planning.- Failure analysis and process improvement projects. - Electrical circuit design.- Commissioning of electrical/process control equipment.
