The Estates department have taken a proactive approach with there information storage by housing the information off site. This allows internal and external bodies to access information with out compromising NHS web security plus reducing access time. The Micad system uses the CAD drawings to ensure accurate and reliable spatial information; users can enter detail such as function, departmental occupancy and costs. Data fields are user-definable and therefore the system and its information capabilities are virtually without limits.The information being collected in the Micad system is always being validated and used by the Micad modules which are interlinked and require a multi-stranded business understanding to deliver to Trust or government bodies requests for information or reports. As an example of the complexity and highly contentious information that I have submitted for Trust use is a AV - SLR report for the director of Estates to be used at TEG. The report needed information collating and formulating from the whole of the Trusts wage and operational costs and the information stored on the Micad system regarding space and directorate usage per department this information was formulated in to a cost per sqm per directorate and sub directorates and the reduction in space usage over a set period of time. The information used to build this report requires access to confidential pay analysis summaries - operational costs and directorate location with in the Trust. Communication required to full fill this request on behalf of the Estates was concise and intense to a tight deadline. Show less
